NATO sponsored CPSICC Nexus Conference Summary
Held in Washington DC in 2024, the CPSICC Nexus Conference was a collaboration between ISF, NATO, Sandia National Labs, and CSIRO, convening international experts from academia, government, and national laboratories to examine how extreme threats interact with critical infrastructure, cybersecurity, and social systems. Discussions focused on how compounding hazards such as extreme heat, flooding, energy system stress, and displacement can trigger cascading failures across interconnected systems. The workshop emphasized systems-level approaches, scenario-based planning, and cross-sector collaboration to strengthen resilience, security, and deterrence through 2030 and 2050.
