Dear Colleagues – Though winter cold has head our way this week, we’re keeping warm and catching up with what our faculty have been up to. Congratulations to affiliates Liz Flaherty (FNR), Laura Bowling (AGRY), Natalia Dudareva (BCHM) and Mitch Tuinstra (AGRY) for receiving teaching and mentoring awards from the College of Agriculture! Other faculty in the news this week include Elin Jacobs (FNR) and Lisa Welp (EAPS) for their recent grant on water redistribution, Mitch Tuinstra (AGRY) for his work on dhurrin-free sorghum, IL/IN SeaGrant & Aaron Thompson (FNR) for a recent grant award water equity. Ag faculty Jayson Lusk (AGECON) and Haley Oliver (Food Sci) were also in the news for their participation in the White House Conference on Hunger, Nutrition, and Health. Our Imagining a Sustainable Future initiative is teaming up with the Diverse Corn Project and the Dept. of Horticulture and Landscape Architecture on 12/8 and the next meeting for Environmental Stressors RC on Friday, 12/9.
